Dr. Shakti Upadhyay is a Scientist with specialization in Cell biology and Immunology. He did Doctorate in Natural Sciences from the University of Paris, France and carried out postdoctoral research at the University of California, School of Medicine, Los Angeles, and Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA.
Dr. Upadhyay, worked as a Senior Scientist at the National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi, and as Research Director, Reliance Life Science Center, Mumbai. Dr. Upadhyay was invited to join as Visiting Professor at the Medical University of Lublin, Poland.
Based on his research, Dr. Upadhyay developed the photo-immunomodulation (PIM) technology for treatment of various clinical conditions and has now established “Trisamya Center for Photomedicine”, which offers cutting-edge Photo-immunomodulation (PIM) therapy for various skin and hair care applications.
Trisamya Photo-immunomodulation (PIM) therapy represents a revolutionary approach to skin care, offering a powerful and non-invasive solution for a variety of cosmetic and dermatological conditions. Trisamya PIM therapy harnesses the power of light energy to modulate the immune system and has the potential to transform the landscape of skin care, providing patients with safer, more effective, and scientifically advanced treatments.
Understanding Photo-immunomodulation (PIM) Therapy:
Photo-immunomodulation (PIM) therapy involves the use of specific wavelengths of light to influence the skin’s immune system. This therapeutic approach is based on the principle that light can penetrate the skin and interact with cellular structures, leading to a cascade of biological responses. Unlike laser-based light therapies that primarily has ablative (destructive) effects, PIM selectively uses specific wavelengths of visible light energy (from red to violet frequencies), which is absolutely safe and effective in modulating the skin immune system to promote healing, reduce inflammation, and improve overall skin health.
How does PIM Therapy Work:
The mechanism of PIM therapy is rooted in the interaction between light and the skin’s cellular components. When specific wavelengths of light are absorbed by the skin, they stimulate various photoreceptors within the cells. These photoreceptors, such as chromophores, absorb light energy and convert it into biochemical signals. This process triggers a series of cellular responses, including the production of anti-inflammatory cytokines, enhancement of cellular repair mechanisms, and modulation of immune cell activity. One of the key aspects of PIM therapy is its ability to target and regulate immune cells in the skin. By modulating the activity of immune cells such as T-cells, macrophages, and dendritic cells, PIM can effectively reduce inflammation, accelerate wound healing, and improve the skin’s defense against infections and other dermatological conditions.
Applications of PIM therapy in Skin Care:
1. Anti-Aging Benefits:
PIM therapy has shown promising results in combating the signs of ageing. The light-induced activation of cellular repair mechanisms and the reduction of inflammation contribute to improved skin texture, skin tightening, reduced wrinkles and stretch marks through enhanced collagen production. By promoting a healthier immune response, PIM helps to maintain youthful and radiant skin.
2. Treatment of Acne:
Acne is a common skin condition that often results from inflammation and bacterial overgrowth. PIM therapy can help to alleviate acne by anti-microbial effect and reducing inflammation, regulating sebum production, and enhancing the skin’s natural defence mechanisms. The anti-inflammatory effects of PIM can also minimize post-acne scarring and hyperpigmentation.
3. Management of Chronic Skin Conditions:
Chronic skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, and rosacea often involve dysregulation of the immune system. PIM therapy offers a novel approach to managing these conditions by modulating immune cell activity and reducing inflammation. Clinical studies have demonstrated significant improvements in symptoms and quality of life for patients undergoing PIM treatment.
4. Wound Healing:
The ability of PIM therapy to accelerate wound healing is particularly beneficial for patients with chronic wounds or those recovering from surgical procedures. By promoting cellular repair and reducing inflammation, PIM can enhance the healing process and reduce the risk of complications.
Advantages of Trisamya PIM Therapy:
PIM therapy offers several advantages over traditional skin care treatments:
· Non-Invasive: PIM therapy is non-invasive and painless, making it an attractive option for patients seeking effective skin care solutions without the need for surgery or injections.
· No Side Effects: Compared to other laser-based light therapies, PIM has no side effects and is without any discomfort.
· Targeted Treatment: The use of specific wavelengths of light allows for precise modulation of the immune response, leading to more effective and tailored treatments.
· Versatility: PIM therapy can be used to address a wide range of skin conditions, making it a versatile tool in cosmetic and dermatological practice.
